Green Light for Quakertown Community High School
On Monday, April 1, 2013 Skepton Construction received the official “Notice of Intent” from The Architectural Studio awarding the company the General Construction Contract for the Quakertown Community High School Additions/Renovations project in the amount of $36,672,000.00.
The four-year high school renovation project will be completed in phases allowing portioned operation and occupancy of the facility during construction. The work includes 25,000 square feet of new additions and approximately 274,000 square feet of alterations. Rather than building from scratch, district officials decided to modernize the 57-year-old school combining conventional classrooms with hi-tech digital learning. Construction will begin this June, 2013 with the expansion phase and new tennis courts.
Skepton Construction has a history of building quality schools for the Quakertown Community School District. Some of the schools Skepton has built for the school district include Tohickon Valley Elementary School, Quakertown Middle School, and Pfaff Elementary School.
