Why Schools Partner with Skepton Construction

School sports facilities require thoughtful planning, clear communication, and a strong commitment to safety, especially when work takes place on active campuses. With more than 200 projects completed on school campuses, our team knows how to operate in environments where students, staff, and community members remain present throughout construction.

We maintain consistent communication with school administrators and facilities teams from preconstruction through closeout. Our employees hold FBI, Pennsylvania Criminal History, and Child Abuse clearances, and we prioritize secure work zones and disciplined safety practices on every campus. This approach ensures safe, well-coordinated construction and reliable execution from start to finish.

Recent K-12 Sports Projects

Every campus presents its own challenges and opportunities. The projects below reflect our team’s ability to adapt to site conditions, program needs, and long-term goals.

Cottingham Stadium at Easton Area High School in Easton, PA

Easton Area High School, Cottingham Stadium

Modernization of a 47,500 square foot athletics complex originally built in 1923. The project included the installation of a new synthetic turf multi-sport field, upgraded bleachers with accessible seating, renovated locker room and fieldhouse areas, new restrooms, a modern press box, updated lighting, and a new brick entry arch.

Carefully balancing modern athletic facility needs with preservation of the stadium’s historic character, the improvements were coordinated to support ongoing school and community use while enhancing durability, accessibility, and long-term performance. The renovated stadium now accommodates student-athletes, spectators, and community events.

Catasauqua, PA

Catasauqua School District, Alumni Field

The Alumni Field renovation modernized the district’s primary athletic stadium to better serve student-athletes, spectators, and the surrounding community. The project focused on upgrading aging infrastructure while improving accessibility, safety, and overall field performance.

Improvements included installation of a new synthetic turf field and track, a new press box, scoreboard, stadium lighting, and visiting bleachers, along with renovations to the existing home bleachers. Accessibility upgrades were incorporated through new fencing, railings, and seating improvements. The project also included renovation and expansion of the existing fieldhouse to support team operations and event use.

Malvern Preparatory School, Athletic Field Expansion

The athletic field expansion at Malvern Preparatory School enhanced the campus’s capacity to support a high level of student participation in sports.

Work included the conversion of existing natural grass fields to synthetic turf, including a varsity baseball field and a multi-purpose soccer and lacrosse field. Construction was carefully phased to align with the school’s academic and athletic calendar, allowing continued campus use throughout the project. The varsity baseball field was completed in time for the spring season, followed by completion of the multi-purpose field during the summer.

The field improvements were integrated into the school’s broader campus initiatives, including development of a centrally located Student Life Center adjacent to the new fields. Together, these enhancements improved functionality, visibility, and spectator experience while supporting the long-term growth of Malvern Prep’s sports programs.

The onsite personnel of Skepton had done a great job in keeping all parties up to date throughout the construction process. The project workmanship has been excellent and all issues have been addressed in a timely manner. They are very accessible from their on-site team all the way to their senior leadership. They are true problem solvers.

James F. DunleavyVP of Finance & Operations, Northampton Community College

During my last few years at Cedar Crest College we did many large and small construction projects. Skepton was the lead on each of them and every one of them was on time and below budget! These folks are the best construction firm I have worked with in my 20 years in higher education.

The quality, attention, exceeded our expectations, and of course, the project was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget.

Arthur M. BerkowitzPresident, JE Berkowitz, LP

Everyone involved understood from the start that this project was going to challenge each of the contractors to perform at their highest level in order to meet the schedule and regulation limitations. Skepton Construction met all of these challenges.

William R. Gretton IIIAssistant Superintendent of Operations, Centennial School District

Skepton not only brought industry knowledge to the table, but they carefully listened to what we wanted and communicated with clarity and frequency throughout the entire project process. They had a high focus on quality, safety and on delivering our facility at the right price without sacrificing our wants and needs. At the end, we were on time and below budget. Our company owner, Mr. Jacquet, noted that this is the nicest building in our worldwide group.
